Stable to Missional = Good to Great
Here is something John Wenrich shared during a coaching call:
Stable to Healthy Missional: Why some churches make it and some churches don’t.
I am not suggesting that going from stable to healthy missional is not easy or that every church will effectively make the shift. I am asserting that those who strive to turn stable into healthy missional find the process no more painful or exhausting than those who settle for just letting things wallow along in mind-numbing mediocrity. Yes, turning stable into healthy missional takes energy, but the building of momentum adds more energy back into the pool than it takes out. Conversely, perpetuating mediocrity is an inherently depressing process and drains more energy out of the pool than it puts back in. We need to persevere through the build up in order to get to the breakthrough. If it’s no harder (given these ideas), the results better and the process so much more fun—well, why wouldn’t you go for healthy missional?” Adapted from Jim Collins, Good to Great.
